Udupi Chutney /Raw chutney :

South Indian cuisine is never complete unless it is accompanied a flavorful chutney. Onion have a strong flavor and nice aroma.Very simple to make and fast.

Ingredients :


  1. Onion                         - 2
  2. Coconut                      - 8 to 10 pc
  3. Red chilly                   - 7 to 8
  4. Jaggery                      - small piece
  5. Tamarind pulp            - 1tsp
  6. Salt to taste

For Tempering :


  1. Oil                              - 2 tsp
  2. Mustard seeds              - 1tsp
  3. Few curry leaves

Method :

Take all the Ingredients
For Tempering

In a blender, mix all the ingredients and add some water

Heat oil in a pan , add mustard seeds when its splutters add curry leaves

Mix it

Raw onoin chutney is ready

Serve it with idly or dosa
