Tomato Mint chutney / Thakkali Pudhina chutney recipe :

A simple chutney made with mint and tomatoes well goes with idly or dosa.

Cooking time : 10 mins
Cuisine : South Indian

Ingredients :

  1. Shallots - 10 - 15 
  2. Green chilly - 2 - 3
  3. Tomato - 2 (medium size)
  4. Mint leaves - 1 cup
  5. Salt to Taste 
  6. Oil - 1 tsp

Method :

  1. Heat oil in a pan, add the shallots saute till turn lit brown color.
  2. Then add the rec chilies, saute it for min. (Adjust spice level depending on your taste).
  3. Add the chopped tomatoes, cover and cook for 5 - 7 mins.
  4. Once tomatoes cooked, add the mint leaves and turn off the flame.
  5. Then saute the mint leaves.
  6. Let it cool downs completely.
  7. In a blender, grind everything with salt and little water.
  8. Serve with idly or dosa.
