Wheat Rava Idly is variation of the south Indian breakfast item idly, made with wheat rava. Let's see step by step pictures....
Wheat Rava Idly |
Ingredients:
- Broken Wheat Rava - 1 cup
- Thick curd / yogurt - 1 cup
- Grated carrot - 1/3 cup
- Capsicum - 1/2 cup (optional)
- Green Chilies - 3 Finely chopped
- Channa - 1 tsp
- Cumin Sedds - 1 tsp
- Mustard Seeds - 1 tsp
- Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tsp
- Asafoetida / Hing - 1/4 tsp
- Eno Fruit salt - 1/2 tsp or Baking soda - 1/4 tsp
- Few curry leaves
- Salt to taste
- Oil
Method:
Take all the Ingredients |
Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, channa, cumin seeds, green chilies and curry leaves, saute it for few sec |
Add turmeric Powder and hing |
Add grated carrot saute it for a min |
Add Capsicum, mix it well..Let's cool the mixture and keep it aside |
Heat a kadai and add broken wheat, dry roast for 5 min and cool down the rava |
Take a mixing bowl, add the dry roasted rava and the thick curd |
Mix all the mixtures and add 1/2 tsp fruit eno salt |
Add some water and Mix it well. keep it aside for 10 - 15 min |
Adjust the water levels, if the water and curd absorbed by broken wheat |
Grease the idly plate and fill the batter in each hole. Steam cook it for 15 min |
Delicious Wheat Idly is ready to serve |
