Masala vada or Paruppu vada is traditionally south Indian Recipe..It is simple and easy to make.Let's see step by step pictures.
Paruppu Vadai |
Ingredients:
- Channa Dal - 1 cup
- Onion - 2 Finely chopped
- Green chilly - 3 Finely chopped
- Few curry Leaves
- Oil as Required
Channa Dal :
- Soak the channa dal for 2 to 3 hrs.
- Then drain the water completely and keep aside.
For Grinding:
- Channa dal - 1cup
- Fennel Seeds - 1tsp
- Galic Cloves - 4 pcs
- Ginger - 1 small pcs
- Salt to Taste
- Don't add water while grinding
Method:
Take all the Ingredients |
In a blender, grind the Ingredients listed under ( For Grinding) |
Grind a coarse paste |
Mix all the ingredients |
Mix well |

Heat oil in a kadai, up turn your hand and drop the vada in oil.Deep fry the vada till both sides turn golden brown in color

Paruppu vada is ready to serve. |
