Simple and easy kodam pulli fish kuzhambu in Kerala style.....Let's see step by step pictures...
Ingredients :
- Fish - 1/2 kg (Use any kind of fish )
- Onion - 1
- Tomato - 1
- Green chilly - 5
- Ginger garlic paste - 2 tsp
- Red chilly powder - 3 tsp
- Coriander powder - 5 tsp
- Pepper powder - 1/2 tsp
- Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
- Kodam pulli - 3 pcs
- Coconut milk - 1 cup
- Salt to taste
For temper :
- Oil - 4 to 5 tsp
- Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
- Urad dal - 1/4 tsp
- Fenugreek seeds - 1/ 4 tsp
- Few curry leaves
Total time for cooking : 20 - 30 mins
Kerala Kodam pulli fish kuzhambu recipe

Method :
- Clean and cut the fish
- Marinate the fish with some turmeric powder and salt and keep it aside
- Chop the onions and tomatoes
- Sliced the green chilies
- Blended the grated coconut with 1 1/2 cups water till finely blended.
- Extract the milk and keep aside
- Heat the kadai, with 5 to 6 tsp oil. Then add the mustard seeds once its splutter add the urad dal, Fenugreek seeds and some curry leaves
- Then add the onions, saute it well for 2 to 3 mins
- Add the green chilies and ginger garlic paste. fry till raw smell goes
- Add the spice powders and stir well on low flame till aromatic, adding a little water an d salt as necessary
- Then add the tomatoes, cook till it turn mushy
- Add 1 cup of water and kodam pulli ,allow it boil for 5 to 10 mins
- Then add the fish simmer on low flame for 5 to 7 mins
- Add the coconut milk and sinner again another 5 mins till nicely thickened
- Turn off the flame
- Serve hot with steamed rice.
