Garam Masala Powder - Homemade Garam Masala Powder Recipe :

The art of blending Garam masala involves grinding or pounding a combination of dried spices. All the spices are roasted before they are ground into a fine powder. It is recommended that the spices are blended freshly. This masala powder is ideally suits for veg. and non veg. preparation......


Prep Time : 5 mins 
Homemade Garam Masala Powder 
Cooking Time : 5 - 10 mins
Cuisine : Indian

Ingredients :

  1. Coriander seeds - 3 tbsp
  2. Cumin / Jeera seeds - 1 tsp
  3. Fennel seeds / Sombu - 2 tbsp
  4. Pepper corns - 1 tsp
  5. Cloves - 1/2 tsp
  6. Star anise - 2
  7. Cardamom / Ellakai - 5 - 6
  8. Cinnamon / Pattai - 1 medium stick

Method :

  1. Take all your ingredients.
  2. Dry roast all the ingredients till golden brown or till nice aroma comes.
  3. Let cool down completely.
  4. Make sure you cool down completely after roasting else it will form lumps while grinding.
  5. In a blender, put all the roasted items and make fine powder or coarse powder.
  6. Store in a air tight container.
