Peanut Masala / Masala Kadalai / Masala Peanuts / Fried peanuts - Festival recipes :

Masala Peanuts can be savored as a snack along with tea or coffee.....


Prep Time : 15 mins
Peanut Masala / Masala Kadalai / Masala Peanuts
Cooking Time : 1 min for each batch
Cuisine : Indian

Ingredients :

  1. Peanut - 2 cups 
  2. Gram flour / Kadala mavu - 1/2 cup
  3. Rice flour / Arisi mavu - 3 tbsp
  4. Red chilly powder - 1 tsp
  5. Crushed Garlic cloves - 10 - 12
  6. Crushed fennel seeds - 1 tbsp
  7. Pepper powder - 1 tsp
  8. Baking soda - 1 tsp
  9. Asafoetida / Hing - a pinch
  10. Red Color powder - a pinch (optional)
  11. Salt to taste
  12. Few curry leaves 
  13. Oil for deep frying

Method :

  1. If you have dry roast peanuts, don't need to fry.
  2. In a kadai, dry roast the peanuts in medium flame for 5 - 10 mins.
  3. Let it cool down completely.
  4. Take all your ingredients.
  5. In blender or hand motor, crush the garlic cloves and fennel seeds.
  6. In a mixing bowl, add Peanut , Gram flour / Kadala mavu ,Rice flour / Arisi mavu ,Red chilly powder ,Crushed Garlic cloves and fennel seeds ,Pepper powder ,Baking soda, Asafoetida / Hing, Red Color powder - a pinch (optional), Salt to taste and few curry leaves. mix them well.
  7. Now add the roasted peanuts and nix it well.
  8. Sprinkle some water while mixing. (Don't add too much of water)
  9. Rest it for 5 mins.
  10. Heat oil in a kadai for deep frying.
  11. Fry the peanut in hot oil till it turn golden brown.
  12. Once it  cool down, store them in a air tight container.
