Rasam powder is very simple to make and is very handy too...You can use this rasam powder for any type of rasam...let's see step by step pictures.....

2.In a kadai, first dry roast the toor dal and Mysore toor dal until golden brown,set aside.
3.Then dry roast the pepper corns and jeera, allow it to splutter, set aside.
4.Add coriander seeds, dry roast until golden brown
5.Then add the red chilies and salt.
6.Saute it for 2 mins.
7.Finally, add hing and curry leaves, saute it for min and turn off the flame
8.In blender, grind everything and make a semi fine powder.
9.Cool down completely.
Ingredients :
- Coriander seeds - 1 and 1/2 cup
- Cumin seeds - 1/2 cup
- Pepper corns - 1/2 cup
- Red chilly - 8 - 10 pcs
- Toor dal / Tuvarapm paruppu - 1/4 cup
- Mysore Toor dal - 1/4 cup or
- Toor dal / Tuvarapm paruppu - 1/2 cup
- Asafoetida / Hing - A pinch
- Few curry leaves
- Salt - 1/4 tsp
Method :
- In a kadai, first dry roast the toor dal and Mysore toor dal until golden brown,set aside.
- Then dry roast the pepper corns and jeera, allow it to splutter, set aside.
- Add coriander seeds, dry roast until golden brown, then add the red chilies and salt.
- Saute it for 2 mins.
- Finally, add hing and curry leaves, saute it for min and turn off the flame
- Let's all ingredients cool downs completely.
- In blender, grind everything and make a semi fine powder.
- Cool down completely.
- Sore in a air tight container.
Note :
- No oil needed while roasting.
- Make sure to cool down before grinding.
- Cook in medium flame.
