Ingredients:

  1. Idly / Dosa Batter - 1 cup
  2. Tawa Idly Podi  OR Idly Podi- 1 tsp
  3. Onion - 2 finely chopped 
  4. Ghee / Oil - 1 tsp

Method :

  1. Chop the onion finely. Heat dosa pan and take a ladle full of dosa batter and spread it thickly in circle shape (Don't spread too much).
  2. The uttapam should be thick.
  3. Add the chopped onions and idly podi on the top.
  4. Drizzle oil or ghee and cook in low medium flame.
  5. Once the base of uttapam is cooked well and golden, then turn the uttapam.
  6. Apply some oil to the edges.
  7. When uttapam cooked both side, remove it from the flame.
  8. Serve hot with chutney/ podi or sambar.
