Vazhaipoo Vadai Recipes ...

Vazhaipoo Vadai....

Ingredients:

  1. Vazhaipoo / Banana flower - 1 cups ( Clean & chopped)
  2. Channa dal / Kadala Paruppu - 3/4 cup 
  3. Murangai Keerai / Drumstick leaves - 1 cup
  4. Shallots - 25 to 20 or Onions - 4 Finely chopped
  5. Green chilly - 3 finely chopped
  6. Garlic - 10 cloves - finely chopped
  7. Ginger - 1 small piece
  8. Fennel seeds / sombu - 1tsp
  9. Few curry leaves
  10. Few coriander leaves
  11. Salt to taste

For Grinding :

  1. Soak the channa dal for 1 hour
  2. In a Blender, add Channa dal , fennel seeds & salt
  3. Grind in coarse paste

Note :

  1. Cook in medium flame
  2. Don't add water while grinding
  3. Drumstick leaves will give nice flavors.

Method:

  1. Mix all the ingredients in the bowl
  2. Mix it well to form a dough consistency.
  3. Heat oil in kadai
  4. Shape the vada
  5. Drop the vada one by one in hot oil
  6. Cook both sides till turns brown in color
  7. Serve hot.
