Tomato Chutney / Thakkali Chutney - Version : 2

Simple and tasty tomato chutney....


Ingredients :

  1. Tomato - 2 
  2. Onion - 1 
  3. Red chilly - 5 - 7
  4. Tamarind paste - 1 tsp
  5. Curry leaves - 5 - 6
  6. Salt to taste 

To Temper :

  1. Oil - 1 tbsp
  2. Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
  3. Urad dal - 1/2 tsp
  4. Few curry leaves

Method :

  1. In a blender, add chopped tomatoes, onions, red chilly, curry leaves, tamarind paste, salt as required and add little water to grind.
  2. Grind into a semi paste.
  3. Heat oil in a kadai, add mustard seeds , once its splutter add urad dal and curry leaves.
  4. Then add the grinded tomato paste and mix it well.
  5. Cover and cook for 5 to 7 mins.
  6. Serve with idly or dosa.
