South Indian Thakkali Thokku....Side dish for idly or dosa....
Ingredients :
- Tomato - 5 to 6 ( Finely Chopped )
- Onion - 2 ( Finely Chopped )
- Green chilly - 2 ( Finely Chopped )
- Garlic cloves - 5 to 8 ( Finely Chopped )
- Chilly powder - 2 tsp or Chilly paste - 2 tsp
- Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
- Few curry leaves
- Few coriander leaves
- Salt to taste
To Temper :
Method :
- Heat oil in a kadai, add mustard seeds once its splutter add urad dal ,cumin seeds, and curry leaves
- Then add garlic cloves and saute it for min
- Add onion and green chilly and saute till lightly browned
- Add the tomatoes and sprinkle some salt in tomato and cover with lid for 5 min
- After 5 mins , open the lid and mix it well
- Now add the chilly powder or chilly paste and mix it well, cook for 3 mins
- Smash the tomato well
- Then add 1/2 glass of water
- Let boil for 2 min
- Finally add the coriander leaves and turn off the flame
- Serve hot with Idly or dosa
