Crab / Nandu pepper curry......

Ingredients : 

  1. Crab / Nandu - 1/2 kg
  2. Oil - 3 tbsp
  3. Few curry leaves 
  4. Kuzhambu milagai powder - 3 tbsp
  5. Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  6. Pepper powder - 1 tbsp
  7. Salt to taste
  8. Few coriander leaves
For Grinding
  1. Tomato - 3 medium size
  2. Shallots - 20 - 25
  3. Pepper corns - 2 tbsp
  4. Jeera / Cumin seeds - 2 tbsp
  5. Garlic - 5 - 8

Method :

  1. Clean and wash the crab and set aside.
  2. In a blender, add tomatoes, shallots, pepper corns, jeera seeds and garlic cloves, grind it with 1/4 cup of water in a coarse paste.
  3. Heat oil in a kadai, add curry leaves and masala paste, mix it well.
  4. Cover and cook the masala paste 3 - 5 mins.
  5. Now open the lid, saute well the masala paste and add 1 1/2 cups of water, kuzhambu milagai powder, turmeric powder and salt.mix it well.
  6. Half cover the lid and cook the masla paste till oil separates. It too 10 - 15 mins.
  7. Now add the clean and washed crab, mix it well in masala paste.
  8. Cook for another 10 mins.
  9. Finally add the pepper powders and chopped coriander leaves, mix it well and turn off the flame.
  10. Serve with rice.
