Garlic Idly Podi / Powder - Poondu Idly Podi Recipe :

Garlic Podi - side dish for Idly / dosa....

Garlic Podi - Pundu Podi Recipe
Cooking Time : 20 - 30 mins
Cuisine : South Indian

Ingredients:

  1. Garlic cloves - 1 cup
  2. Coriander seeds - 2 tbsp
  3. Toor dal - 3/4 cup
  4. Urad dal - 1/2 cup
  5. Red chilly - 8 - 10
  6. Cumin seeds - 1 tbsp
  7. Asafoetida / Hing - 1/4 tsp
  8. Oil - 2 tsp
  9. Salt - 1 tsp

Method:

  1. Take all your ingredients.
  2. Peel the skin and crush the garlic nicely and set aside.
  3. Heat 2 tsp oil in a pan, roast the crushed garlic in medium flame till it turns brown color.And remove from the flame and set aside.
  4. Dry roast the urad dal for few mins and add toor dal, coriander seeds, cumin seeds and red chilies roast it for few mins and transfer to the plate.
  5. Finally add the hing and cool down the mixture.
  6. In a blender, put all the mixture with enough salt and make a semi fine powder or fine powder or coarse powder. 
  7. Store it an air tight container.
  8. Serve with idly / dosa.
