Tomato kurma is a simple and tasty side dish that goes well with idly/ dosa/ chapathi/ idiyappam.

Tomato Kurma |
Ingredients:
- Tomatoes - 4 Finely chopped
- Onion - 2 Finely chopped
- Crushed garlic and ginger- 3 tsp
- Homemade Kuzhambu powder - 5 tsp Or
- (Coriander , Red chilly powder - Each - 2 tsp, Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp)
- Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
- Oil - 2tsp
- Few curry leaves
- Few Coriander leaves
- Salt to taste
For Coconut Paste:
- Grated coconut - 1/2 cup
- Fennel Seds - 1tsp
- Roasted Gram/Pottukadalai - 2tsp
- Poppy seeds - 1/2 tsp (optional)
- Water

Take all the Ingredients |

Grind the coconut paste |

Heat oil in a kadai, splutter the mustard seeds, add urad dal, curry leaves and onions saute it well |

Then add crushed ginger and garlic ,saute it for a min ( This crushed ginger and garlic will give nice aroma to the kurma) |

Add the tomatoes and some salt , stir it well |

Cover with the lid for 2mins |

Fry till mushy |

Add Kuzhambu powder |

Add the coconut paste |

Then add 1 cup of water and salt |

Let it boil for 10 - 15 min |

Turn off the flame and add chopped coriander leaves |

Serve hot with Idly/dosa |
