South Indian Mutton Drumstick Kuzhambu / Mutton Curry Recipes:

Mutton Kuzhambu/ Mutton curry is the best non - veg side dish for Idlies. It is a delicious south Indian dish..Lets see step by step pictures...
Mutton Drumstick Kuzhambu

Ingredients:


  1. Mutton - 1/2 kg
  2. Shallots - 15 - 20 pcs or Big Onions - 2 finely chopped
  3. Tomato - 3 Finely chopped
  4. Drumstick - 2
  5. Potato - 2
  6. Mutton Kuzhambu powder - 3 tsp
  7. Homemade Kuzhambu Powder - 2 tsp 
  8. OR
  9. ( Coriander powder, Red chilly powder - each 2 tsp, Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp)
  10. Ginger Garlic paste - 2 tsp
  11. Green Chilly - 2
  12. Cinnamon - 1
  13. Cloves - 2
  14. Star anise - 1
  15. Oil - 3 tsp
  16. Few curry leaves
  17. Few Coriander leaves
  18. Salt to taste

For Coconut Paste :


  1. Coconut - 1/2 cup
  2. Fennel seeds - 1 tsp
  3. Water for grinding



Method:

Take all the Ingredients

In a Blender, grind the coconut to a smooth paste

Coconut paste 

Heat oil in a kadai, add cinnamon, cloves and star anise

Add the ginger garlic paste saute it for 30 sec

Add the onions, green chilies and curry leaves, saute it for 2 min

Add the tomatoes

Fry till it turns mushy

Add the drumstick and potatoes ( I forgot to add the potatoes)

Add the spice powders

Mix it well

Add the coconut paste 

Saute it for a min 

Cook the mutton with turmeric powder, 1/2 tsp ginger garlic paste and some salt

Transfer the curry to the mutton kadai and add 1 cup of water and salt

Cook the curries for 15 - 20 mins

Delicious Mutton Drumstick Kuzhambu is ready

Serve with hot Idlies
