Vendakai Pulli Kuzhambu |
Ingredients:
- Lady's Finger / Okra / Vendakkai -1 cup
- Thatta Payaru / Cowpea beans - 1 cup ( Optional)
- Shallots - 10 - 15 pcs or Big Onion -2 Finely Chopped
- Tomato - 2
- Tamarind Paste - 5 tsp ( Depending upon your taste)
- Coriander powder and Red chilly powder - Each 2 tsp (Or) Homemade Kuzhambu Powder - 4 tsp
- Coconut Paste - 1 cup ( In a Blender, Grind the coconut with little water )
- Few Curry leaves
- Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
- Oil as required
- Salt to taste
Method :
Take all the Ingredients, Forgot to show kuzhambu powder |
Heat oil in a kadai |
Add the mustard seeds, curry leaves and onions saute it for few min |
Add the tomatoes , fry it till its turns mushy |
Add turmeric powder, mix it well |
Wash and cut the lady's finger and fry it with 1 tsp oil for 5 min |
Set it aside |
Now add the vendakkai and thatta payaru, mix it well |
Add Kuzhambu powder, mix it well |
Add tamarind paste |
Add coconut paste |
Add 2 cups of water and salt |
Lets boil for 15 to 20 min |
Once oil separates from Kuzhambu , turn off the flame |

Serve with Hot plain Rice |
