Ingredients :
- Dry red chilly - 2 cups - 250gm - 300 gm
- Coriander seeds - 1.5 cup
- Turmeric powder / Manjal podi - 2 tbsp
- Mustard seeds / Kaduku - 1 tbsp
- Fenugreek seeds / Vendayam - 2 tsp
- Cumin seeds / Jeerakam - 2 tbsp
- Toor dal / Tuvaram powder - 3 tbsp
- Channa dal / Kadalai paruppu - 3 tbsp
- Urad dal / Ulundu paruppu - 3 tbsp
- Pepper corns - 2 tbsp
- Asafoetida / Hing - 1 tsp
- Salt - 1 tsp
Method :
- Take a heavy bottom pan. heat in medium flame
- First dry roast the dals, roast them for few mins till the color change.
- Then Dry roast the ingredients, one by one in low flame expect turmeric powder.
- Each ingredient took 3 - 4 mins for dry roast.
- Lets cool down completely.
- In a bender, put the ingredients, add turmeric powder and salt.
- Salt prevent the powder for long time.
- Grind it in a semi powder.
- Then transfer into plate or newspaper and cool it completely.
- Store it in air tight container.
