South Indian tomato chutney....Simple and tasty chutney well goes with Idly and dosa...
Ingredients :
- Onion - 3
- Tomato - 2
- Red chilly - 5 to 6
- Tamarind paste - 1/2 tsp
- Salt to taste
To temper :
- Oil - 1 tbsp
- Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
- Urad dal - 1/2 tsp
- Few curry leaves
Method :
- Heat 1 tsp oil in a pan, add chopped tomatoes. saute it for till golden brown.
- Then add the red chilly, saute it for min.
- Add the chopped tomatoes, saute it for 5 to 8 mins.
- Finally add the tamarind paste and saute for 30 sec and turn off the flame.
- Let's cool down.
- In blender, put add the mixture and grind with little water.
- Heat oil in a kadai, add mustard seeds , once its splutter add urad dal and curry leaves and turn off the flame.
- Mix the tempered items to the chutney and mix it well.
- Serve with idly or dosa.
