Capsicum Chutney / Bellpepper Chutney Recipe :

Tasty capsicum chutney......

Capsicum Chutney / Bell-pepper Chutney Recipe

Ingredients :

  1. Capsicum - 1 
  2. Jeera / Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
  3. Channa / kadala paruppu  - 2 tbsp
  4. Red chilly - 2 - 3
  5. Grated coconut - 2 tbsp
  6. Tamarind paste - 1 tsp
  7. Salt to taste -
  8. Oil - 1 tsp

To Temper :

  1. Oil - 2 tsp 
  2. Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
  3. Few curry leaves

Method :

  1. Heat oil in a pan, add cumin seeds, channa dal and red chilies saute it till turns light brown.
  2. Clean the capsicum , remove  the stem and inner seed parts.
  3. Then add the capsicum saute till shrinks, it will take 3 - 4 mins.
  4. Add coconut and coriander leaves, mix it well and turn off the flame. 
  5. Let cool down completely.
  6. In a blender, put all the mixer, add tamarind , salt and little water and grind into a semi fine paste.
  7. Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds and curry leaves, let it splutter.
  8. Transfer the tempering to the chutney and mix it well.
  9. Serve with idly / dosa.
